The Gender and Sports Committee is a consultative body of the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) that serves as a link between the women, children and the BOC. Some of the main objectives of the Gender and Sports Committee are to emphasize the importance and assist in the promotion of women, children, and vulnerable groups in sports in the country, encourage female participation in both technical and administrative levels in sports and foster values of sports among women and children.

With support from the BOC and Olympic Solidarity, the ‘IMPULSE’ seminar is conducted by Ms. Gabriela Mueller from Switzerland. Ms. Gabriela is a professional communications coach, trainer and a speaker.

This seminar is anticipated to empower, support and encourage the promotion of women in sports at all levels, in all sports structures and help implement the principles of equality of men and women in sports. Further, the Gender and Sports Committee is expecting to develop a long term strategic plan, based on the findings from the seminar. The 41 participants consist of athletes, coaches, teacher and sports administrators.
