Stakeholder Consultations with Athletes & Coaches
Ecosystem 2.0
Today, BuildTeam held stakeholder consultations with athletes and coaches at the Bhutan Olympic Committee, in line with Ecosystem 2.0, an initiative to strengthen Bhutan’s sporting ecosystem through better governance, greater autonomy for National Sports Federations, performance-based accountability, and sustainable sports development.
The session brought together 54 athletes and 23 coaches from National Sports Federations, along with 11 coaches from Dzongkhag Taekwondo Associations, to discuss athlete and coach development pathways, existing opportunities, challenges, and ways to strengthen support systems for sports development in Bhutan.
Following an introduction to the Minimum Viable Federation framework and its purpose, participants engaged in group discussions facilitated by project managers, sharing their experiences, concerns, challenges, and needs. The consultations provided an opportunity for athletes and coaches to voice their perspectives on development opportunities, support mechanisms, and the challenges they encounter within the sporting system.
As part of the broader Ecosystem 2.0 reform, these consultations aim to ensure that the voices of athletes and coaches inform the development of more effective support systems, stronger development pathways, and a more accountable and sustainable sporting environment for Bhutan.
