In August 2024, Karma pulled off a bold, game-changing move: signing Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda for Paro FC’s AFC Challenge League playoff run. This was no flash in the pan. For children tucked away in Himalayan villages, seeing Honda wear Paro’s orange was a seismic shift in what they believed possible.

The message was clear: If Honda can come to Bhutan, why can’t I play anywhere in the world?

Now, as the Afghan champions Abu Muslim FC step onto Bhutanese soil, Paro FC faces a defining moment. This is more than a game.
