53 Schools, 420 Young Athletes Set to Shine at the 17th National School Games 2025 in Sarpang

Bhutan is gearing up for a sports extravaganza as the 17th National School Games 2025 hits Sarpang! This year, 53 schools and 420 talented athletes from across the country will come together for an unforgettable celebration of youth, skill, and sportsmanship.
The competition will feature six exciting sports: chess, volleyball, basketball, badminton, aerobics, and table tennis, giving students a platform to showcase their talent, determination, and teamwork.
From the highlands of Gasa to the valleys of Paro, and from Thimphu’s bustling streets to Phuntsholing’s lively grounds, students from every corner of Bhutan will bring their A-game. Participating schools include:
- Bumthang: Chumey Central School, Jakar HSS, Tang Central School
- Chukha: Arekha MSS, Chukha CS, Pakshikha CS
- Dagana: Gesarling HSS
- Gasa: Bjishong CS
- Gelephu: Gelephu MSS, Losel Gaytsho Academy
- Haa: Chundu AFPS
- Lhuntse: Lhuntse HSS, Minjey MSS, Tangmachu CS
- Mongar: Drametse HSS, Kidheykhar CS, Mongar HSS, Nagor MSS, Nangkor HSS, Yadi CS
- Paro: Karma Academy, Royal Academy
- Pemagatshel: Ngalam CS, Pemagatshel MSS
- Phuntsholing: Phuentsholing HSS, Phuentsholing Rigsar HSS
- Punakha: Dashiding HSS, Punakha CS, Ugyen Academy
- Samdrupjongkhar: Karmaling HSS, Martshala CS, Orong Central School, Samdrupjongkhar MSS
- Samtse: Dorokha CS, Norbugang CS, Peljorling HSS, Samtse HSS
- Sarpang: Dekiling MSS
- Thim Throm: Changangkha MSS, Dr. Tobgyal School, Mothithang HSS, Yangchenphu HSS, Zulikha MSS
