We celebrated the successful completion of Project Dechenchholing, a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and the Bhutan Olympic Committee to introduce sports, particularly Kids’ Athletics, into school programs. His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck graced the occasion. During the royal interaction, teachers and the project team had the opportunity to share the challenges and opportunities they faced during the project implementation with HRH.

This pilot project focused on studying the impact of kids’ athletics programs on students’ health and fitness. It began with a pre-intervention assessment of the students, followed by two months of engaging and structured athletics activities designed to enhance their physical and mental well-being. The post-intervention assessment showed promising results, reinforcing the role of sports in nurturing healthier and more active children.
