42 Athletes Now Under BEAST Programme Following Successful 4th Contract Signing Ceremony

The BEAST Programme successfully conducted its 4th Contract Signing Ceremony today, 12 May 2026, at the BOC Conference Hall, reaffirming its continued commitment towards the development and support of elite Bhutanese athletes. The ceremony marked another significant milestone for the Programme as it continues to strengthen Bhutan’s high-performance sporting landscape through structured athlete support, performance-based incentives, and long-term development opportunities.

For the new contract cycle, which will run until 31 December 2026, a total of 27 athletes officially signed BEAST contracts across various categories. The newly inducted athletes include one Gold athlete, Tandin Dorji from Compound Archery, alongside seven Silver athletes and nineteen Bronze athletes. Their inclusion reflects the Programme’s ongoing efforts to identify, nurture, and support athletes with strong potential to represent Bhutan at the highest levels of competition.

In addition to the newly contracted athletes, the existing squad under the current contract cycle from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026 remains active within the Programme. This group comprises one Gold athlete, Kinley Tshering from Recurve Archery, ten Silver athletes, and four Bronze athletes. With the addition of the new intake, the BEAST Programme now extends its support to a total of 42 athletes across different sporting disciplines and performance categories.

The BEAST Programme continues to serve as a vital platform for athlete development in Bhutan, providing sustained support aimed at enhancing athletic performance, strengthening competitive readiness, and fostering sporting excellence.
