Bhutan Names Three Boxers for Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026
The Bhutan Olympic Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Kinga Wangmo (54kg), Migma Dorji (55kg) and Kinley (60kg) to represent Bhutan at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
For Kinga Wangmo, the journey to the Asian Games has been nothing short of remarkable. She only took up boxing in 2021 during military training, yet in just a few years she has emerged as one of Bhutan’s brightest talents, winning gold medals at the Four Nations Championship, the Himalayan Showdown in Nepal, and the BKSP-BABF Friendship Tournament in Bangladesh.
Migma Dorji’s story is one of patience and persistence. Since stepping into the ring as a teenager, he has climbed through the junior, youth and elite ranks, collecting medals and valuable international experience along the way. From local championships to Asian-level competitions, his selection is the result of years of commitment to the sport.
For Kinley, boxing has been a part of life since the age of 11. A multiple-time national champion and a proud representative of Bhutan on the international stage, he has steadily built his reputation through determination, discipline and a willingness to learn from every bout, whether in victory or defeat.
Their paths to this moment have been different. One discovered boxing during military training. One grew through nearly a decade of competition. One has spent more than half his life in the sport. Now, all three share the same destination “The Asian Games “.
Congratulations, Kinga, Migma and Kinley on this well-deserved achievement. As you prepare to step into the ring at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, know that an entire nation stands proudly behind you.
