Strategic Roadmap for 2022-2030
Igniting the Future of Sports in Bhutan
The Strategic Roadmap 2022–2030 defines our vision for the next decade of sports in Bhutan. It is a national commitment to strengthen sporting excellence, expand participation, and position sport as a pillar of health, unity, and national identity.
This roadmap builds on the foundation of the 2011 Strategic Vision and Roadmap, drawing on the progress achieved and the lessons learned over the past decade. It responds to the changing needs of athletes, coaches, and communities, while setting a clear pathway for future growth.
The plan is anchored on four strategic objectives: Athlete Development, Human Resources, Sporting Base, and an Enabling Ecosystem. Together, these provide a complete framework for progress—developing athletes from grassroots to elite levels, equipping coaches and officials with the skills to lead, expanding opportunities for participation across the country, and building the structures and systems needed to ensure sustainability.
The roadmap outlines 15 strategies and 227 detailed activities. Each has been carefully designed to move from vision to action, ensuring accountability, measurable results, and long-term impact.
This is a plan for athletes who aspire to excel, for coaches and administrators dedicated to raising standards, and for every citizen who believes in the power of sport. It is a blueprint for the future—one where sport inspires, unites, and strengthens Bhutan.
