BHUTAN TO HOST CAVA CHALLENGE CUP 2026 (MEN & WOMEN) IN THIMPHU

the Central Asian Volleyball Association Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup 2026

The Bhutan Volleyball Federation (BVF), in partnership with Bhutan Sports Ventures (BSV) and the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), is pleased to announce that Bhutan will host the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup 2026 for Men and Women from 21–23 August 2026 at the Changlimithang Parking Area, Thimphu.

The tournament will bring together leading beach volleyball teams from across the region and marks the second occasion Bhutan has been entrusted to host a CAVA event. The first was the CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship 2024, held in Thimphu from 1–3 August 2024 at the same venue. That event made history as the first-ever international beach volleyball tournament hosted in Bhutan, featuring teams from Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The return of CAVA to Bhutan with the 2026 Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup reflects the continued trust placed in the Bhutan Volleyball Federation’s organizational capacity and the positive experience delivered during the 2024 championship. It also strengthens the growing footprint of beach volleyball in Bhutan, particularly as the sport continues to gain visibility and participation at the national level.

For the 2026 edition, participation is expected from all CAVA member nations, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The CAVA Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup 2026 is expected to further strengthen regional sporting ties while offering valuable international exposure for athletes and contributing to the development of beach volleyball in Bhutan. The event will also provide an opportunity for local fans to witness high-level international competition in the heart of Thimphu.

Further details on competition schedules, team confirmations, and accreditation procedures will be shared in due course.
