Bhutan Competes in Qualification Round
at Singapore 2025 Asia Cup Leg 2
The Bhutanese archery team is currently participating in the ongoing Singapore 2025 Asia Cup Leg 2, organized by World Archery Asia (WAAsia), taking place from June 15 to 20, 2025.
Today marked the Qualification Round, where Bhutan featured in both the Recurve and Compound categories.
Recurve Men’s Qualification Round
In the men’s recurve event [after 54 arrows], Bhutan’s archers put in a spirited performance among 54 international participants:
- Penjor Sonam secured the 20th position
- Tshering Kinley ranked 25th
- Dorji Lam finished at 32nd
- Karma Lhendup placed 45th
As a team, Bhutan’s Recurve Men stood 8th out of 14 nations in the country-wise team ranking [after 162 arrows].
Compound Women’s Qualification Round
In the Compound Women category [after 72 arrows], Bhutan was represented by a single archer, who placed 37th out of 44 participants. However, in the country-wise team ranking for Compound Women [after 216 arrows], Bhutan was not listed in the standings, and no detailed information has been made available by the host organizers.
Team Bhutan is set to continue their campaign tomorrow in the Individual Elimination Rounds, aiming for stronger finishes and valuable international experience.
