In a major development for Bhutanese sports, Dr. Sonam Penjor, President of the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association, has been officially elected Vice President of the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation during the Executive Council Meeting held earlier today.
The Bhutan Aquatics Federation successfully concluded its Intensive Swimming Program for De-suung Skilling Participants today at the Bhutan Aquatic Centre in Thimphu. The closing ceremony was graced by the Secretary General of the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), along with officials and dignitaries from both the BOC and the De-suung Skilling Program.
Mr. Sonam Thinley, Chair of the Athletes’ Commission of Bhutan, attended by invitation from the IOC Athletes’ Commission. On the sidelines, he conveyed His Majesty the King of Bhutan’s highest regards to IOC President Thomas Bach and extended warm congratulations to President‑elect Kirsty Coventry.
