A Heartfelt Tribute on Teacher’s Day
On this Teacher’s Day, the Bhutan Olympic Committee joins the people of Bhutan in expressing our deepest respect and appreciation to those who dedicate their lives to guiding others — not only in classrooms, but also on training grounds, fields, gyms, and in every quiet corner where learning takes place.
We also take this solemn moment to pay tribute to His Majesty The Third Druk Gyalpo, the Father of Modern Bhutan, whose wisdom, humility, and selfless leadership continue to inspire us all. His legacy lives on in the values we instill in our children — in every lesson of kindness, in every act of discipline, and in every quiet moment of mentorship.
At the heart of all our work — whether in education, sports, or leadership — are our students. They are the reason we strive. They are the future we build. Their growth, dreams, and achievements are what drive each one of us to do better, to give more. But while we often see their progress and success in the spotlight, we must never forget the many hands that shape them behind the scenes. The people who show up every single day — not for recognition, but out of pure dedication.
To all the school teachers who pour their hearts into their lessons, thank you. To the coaches who spend countless hours developing character through sport, thank you. To the sports instructors who encourage our youth to believe in themselves and push beyond limits, thank you. To the technical experts and silent contributors who ensure that everything runs smoothly — your role, though often unseen, is deeply valued.
Many of you may not consider yourselves “teachers” in the traditional sense. And yet, what you do — your influence, your mentorship, your belief in every child — embodies the very spirit of teaching. You guide not just through instruction, but through presence, patience, and example. You build not only strong athletes and thinkers, but compassionate human beings.
We also acknowledge the efforts — those who supports in administrative roles, planning, logistics, and leadership. Your dedication lays the foundation upon which learning and growth can truly happen. Even when your name is not spoken, your impact is felt in the lives of those who benefit from the systems and spaces you help create.
This Teacher’s Day, we say this with all humility — we are grateful for you. We honour you not just today, but every day your quiet efforts make a difference in the life of a students. Your presence, whether on the sidelines or at the front of the class, matters deeply.
To all our mentors, teachers, and guides — whether you shape minds through books, mould characters through sport, or nurture hearts through care — thank you. The dreams of our youth are being built on your strength, your sacrifice, and your love. And for that, we are endlessly thankful.
Happy Teacher’s Day.
