Athletes 365 Workshop Begins in Thimphu
Empowering Bhutanese Athletes Beyond the Field
Thimphu, April 16, 2025 — The Athletes 365 Workshop, initiated by the Athletes Commission of Bhutan in collaboration with the Bhutan Olympic Committee and supported by Athlete365, began today in Thimphu. The two-day workshop, running from April 16 to 17, is aimed at equipping athletes from various sports federations with essential life skills in Self-Discovery and CV Writing.
The sessions are being led by Mrs. Jovina Choo Bei Fen, OLY, an IOC-certified educator and a respected figure in the international sports development sector. With over 10 years of experience in sports, community empowerment, and Olympic stakeholder management across the Asia Pacific, Mrs. Choo brings a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to the Bhutanese athlete community.

The opening session was attended by Zimpon Wom Sonam Thinley, Chairperson of the Athletes’ Commission of Bhutan, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of the workshop:
“This workshop is more than a skill-building event—it’s a mirror and a map. A mirror to reflect on who you are beyond the jersey, and a map to guide you toward the future you want to create. We want every Bhutanese athlete to know that their journey doesn’t end when the match does—it evolves.”
In his keynote address, Zimpon Wom Sonam Thinley also stated that on behalf of the Athletes’ Commission of Bhutan, it is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome each one of you to the Athletes 365 Workshop—a milestone initiative created to support and empower Bhutanese athletes beyond the field of play. Over the next two days, you’ll embark on a journey to explore your identity, recognize your strengths, and begin shaping a future that is personally fulfilling and socially impactful. Your courage to reflect and grow is what will make this workshop truly meaningful.
He further extended appreciation to the Bhutan Olympic Committee and the IOC Athletes’ Commission for their continued support, and warmly acknowledged the presence of Ms. Jovina Choo. We are deeply honored to be joined by Ms. Jovina Choo, whose global work in athlete development has touched countless lives. Her presence here today is a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when sport and purpose align.
The workshop marks an important step in the Athletes Commission’s ongoing efforts to support athletes beyond competition, helping them prepare for meaningful careers and impactful roles in society.
