Bhutan Confirms Participation in
the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025
We are delighted to announce that Bhutan will officially participate in the 9th Asian Winter Games, taking place in Harbin, China, in 2025. This marks a significant moment for Bhutan as we join other winter sports nations in this prestigious event.
To date, a total of 1,275 athletes from 34 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) across Asia have completed their sport entries for the 9th Asian Winter Games. This includes 755 male and 520 female athletes, with a remarkable 847 athletes (513 male, 334 female) competing in ice events, while 428 athletes (242 male, 186 female) will participate in snow events.
Harbin 2025 is expected to host the largest number of participating NOCs and athletes in the history of the Asian Winter Games, a testament to the growing enthusiasm for winter sports across Asia and the attention garnered by the games. Notably, the delegations from Bhutan, Cambodia, and Saudi Arabia are set to make their Games debut, further expanding the “Circle of Friends” of the Asian Winter Games.
As part of this historic event, Bhutan will compete in Alpine Skiing under the slalom discipline. This challenging event requires athletes to navigate a series of gates on a downhill course, demanding precision, agility, and speed. Our athletes have been preparing extensively for this moment, and we are confident they will represent Bhutan with pride and dedication.
In our next blog, we’ll officially reveal the athlete who will represent Bhutan at the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025. Stay tuned for exciting updates and insights into their journey and preparation for the games!
