Bhutan Olympic Committee Joins the Nation in
Volunteer Service at Gelephu Mindfulness City
The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), together with volunteers from various National Sports Federations, has joined the nation in the four-day Volunteer Service Programme at the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), which began on 6th October 2025.
This initiative is part of a larger national effort inspired by His Majesty The King’s Royal Vision for Nation-Building, which rests on three transformative pillars — De-suung, Gyalsung, and Pelsung. Each pillar reflects a unique form of service and responsibility that guides Bhutan toward a secure, united, and innovative future.
Amidst this spirit of service, His Majesty The King granted an audience to all the volunteers gathered in Gelephu. His Majesty expressed deep appreciation for their collective efforts and reaffirmed the importance of unity and dedication in nation-building. His Majesty’s words continue to inspire every Bhutanese:
“My father took a leap of faith in me, and I have always endeavoured to not disappoint him, my people, and above all, our choechang sungma.”
The Volunteer Service Programme coincides with the launch of Pelsung – Guardians of Prosperity, the third and final pillar of His Majesty’s Royal Vision. Following De-suung (Guardians of Peace & Harmony) and Gyalsung (Guardians of the Nation), Pelsung seeks to strengthen Bhutan’s economy and drive innovation, particularly through the development of Gelephu Mindfulness City.
Adding to the inspiration of the occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck also joined the BOC volunteers, exemplifying the true spirit of service and humility that continues to strengthen Bhutan’s unity under the visionary leadership of His Majesty The King.
