Tomorrow marks the inauguration of the National Coaching Academy at the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) premises. This initiative is set to enhance the landscape of sports coaching and development in the country.

The academy will welcome the second cohort of coaches from various national sports federations, reinforcing Bhutan’s commitment to nurturing coaching talent. In a significant expansion, this year’s program is also open to self-financed individuals passionate about pursuing a career in sports coaching. This inclusive approach aims to broaden opportunities for aspiring coaches and elevate the standard of sports education in Bhutan.

At the heart of this initiative is the Foundational Sport Science Certificate Program, a 25-day program meticulously designed by the Bhutan Olympic Committee. With Bhutan’s growing emphasis on athletic excellence and well-being, the program provides essential knowledge and practical skills for those looking to build a career in sports, exercise, and health.

The course will officially begin on March 28, 2025. However, prior to that, on March 26 and 27, a Coaches Development Course will be conducted for all coaches across various federations. This additional training will further strengthen coaching methodologies and enhance professional skills.
