𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐨 𝐉𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐠𝐲𝐚𝐥

A special prayer ceremony was held at the Simtokha Dzong today, in memory of Late Dasho Jigme Namgyal, President of the Basketball Federation of Bhutan, who passed away on the 28th of March, 2025.

His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck offered Karmey Jamchoed (one hundred butter lamps) in honour of the late Dasho Jigme Namgyal. The ceremony was attended by Late Dasho’s sisters, along with officials and staff from the National Sports Federations, the Bhutan Olympic Committee, and members of the sporting community.

Dasho Jigme Namgyal is fondly remembered for his dedication to the development of sports in Bhutan and his lasting contribution to the growth of basketball in the nation.
