Methodology and Design Support Course Underway at the Bhutan Olympic Committee

Thimphu, 15 November 2025 — A two-day Coaching Methodology and Design Support Course is currently being conducted at the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) from 15th to 16th November 2025. Organized by the Bhutan Aquatics Federation with the support of World Aquatics and the Bhutan Olympic Committee, this initiative marks a significant step in enhancing Bhutan’s athlete development framework and coaching standards.

The course is led by Mr. Tshering Penjor and Mr. Tshetrim Yoezer, both experienced professionals in sports training design and high-performance development lead the course. A total of 13 participants, including coaches and athletes from various National Sports Federations, are attending the program. Over two intensive days, participants will be introduced to key concepts and practical knowledge required for modern sports planning. This includes learning how to design effective training structures, develop both long-term and short-term periodized plans, set goals, conduct session reflection, and map out competition pathways that support athlete progression and performance peaking.

A major objective of the course is to align all training and development plans of NSFs with the BEAST initiative’s program structure, ensuring consistency and professionalism across the entire sporting ecosystem. By incorporating evidence-based methodology and structured performance planning, the course is expected to empower coaches with the tools needed to enhance preparation and improve results in major competitions and sporting events.

This initiative reflects a continued commitment to building a more robust and professional sports development system. Through such capacity-building programs, the aim is to strengthen the country’s competitive edge, develop informed and skilled coaches, and ultimately uplift the performance standards of Bhutanese athletes on regional and international platforms.
