Thimphu, 5 October 2025 — The much-anticipated Season 4 of the National Federation League officially kicked off today at the Changlimithang Outdoor Basketball Court, bringing together the top volleyball clubs from across Bhutan in a spirited competition.

The opening ceremony was attended by Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji, Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE), as the Chief Guest. 

Five teams are competing in this year’s edition: Tensung VC, Drukpol, BVBF Academy, WE Spikers VC, and CNR VC. The teams are currently contesting in the league round, where each club will play against the others once. The top four teams from the league stage will then advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for 16–17 October, with the final match set for 19 October 2025.

This year’s league is being held under the theme, “Honouring the 70th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.” The event is organized by the Bhutan Volleyball Federation, with support from the Government of India, the Bhutan Olympic Committee, the Royal Government of Bhutan, and Woezer Events.

Attractive prizes have been announced for the winners — Nu. 150,000 for the champions, Nu. 70,000 for the runners-up, and Nu. 30,000 for the third-place team. In addition, travel subsidies are being provided to players traveling from other regions and to clubs featuring foreign players. This season, three international players are participating — one each with Tensung VC, We Spikers VC, and Drukpol VC.

The National Federation League, inaugurated in 2022, has quickly become one of Bhutan’s premier volleyball tournaments. Past champions include Tensung VC (1st and 2nd editions) and We Spikers VC (3rd edition).

With Season 4 kicking off, the league is back and ready to write another great chapter in Bhutan’s volleyball journey.
