Sports Administrators Course Begins Tomorrow in Thimphu

The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), with the support of Olympic Solidarity, is set to begin the Sports Administrators Course from 3rd to 6th June 2025 at the National Coaching Academy, Olympasia House, Thimphu. This four-day program aims to enhance the professional capacity of sports administrators from across the country, with a strong focus on improving governance, sustainability, and the promotion of Olympic values within Bhutan’s sports ecosystem.

Organised as part of BOC’s ongoing commitment to institutional development and sports excellence, the course brings together administrators from National Sports Federations (NSFs), school sports coordinators, and stakeholders involved in the planning and execution of sports events nationwide. With the growing importance of effective management in sports, the course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to lead with integrity, innovation, and a strong understanding of compliance and policy frameworks.

The program covers a wide range of practical and strategic areas, including the role of NSFs in promoting Olympic values through education programs, strengthening partnerships with the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), and building safe sport environments. Emphasis will also be placed on the use of digital media, strategic communication, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to better manage operations and engage with stakeholders. Discussions will also delve into sustainable event planning, human resource compliance, procurement and stock management, and preparing for training camps and international competitions.
