Strength and Conditioning Course Concludes Successfully

Thimphu, October 2, 2025 — A four-day Strength and Conditioning Course came to a successful close today at the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) Conference Hall. The course, which ran from September 29 to October 2, was organized by the Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation (BAAF) in partnership with the BOC and with support from Olympic Solidarity.

A total of 28 participants from various national sports federations participated in the training, which aimed to enhance their knowledge and skills in athlete development. Over the four days, they covered topics such as performance profiling, strength training, endurance development, and how to design long-term training programs.

The sessions were conducted by two internationally certified trainers from World Athletics. Parveer Singh, Deputy Chief Coach (Throws) of the Indian national athletics team, shared his decades of experience in shaping elite athletes. At the same time, Veeramani Chidambaram, a World Athletics CECS Course Lecturer and international sports educator, provided valuable insights from his extensive work across Asia.

Mr. Tshewang Rinzing, President of BAAF, was invited as the Chief Guest. All participants received certificates of completion from the president, recognizing their commitment to strengthening Bhutan’s sporting community. The course has been seen as an important step in building local expertise and helping coaches apply modern strength and conditioning methods in their training programs.
