The 14th Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship 2025 Unites Bhutan’s Fitness Community

Thimphu, October 2025 — In the heart of the capital city, beneath the glowing lights of the iconic Clock Tower Square, Bhutan’s strongest and most disciplined athletes took the stage for the much-awaited Mr. Bhutan 2025 Championship. The venue buzzed with excitement as families, fitness enthusiasts, and crowds gathered to witness an unforgettable night of strength, confidence, and inspiration. 

Out of five exceptional competitors in the Men’s Open Bodybuilding category, Mr. Maha Lal Rai emerged as the new Mr. Bhutan 2025, stealing the spotlight with his powerful physique, flawless symmetry, and commanding stage presence. The competition was fierce and thrilling, as every contestant gave their best for the coveted title. Mr. Chencho clinched the 1st Runner-up position, while Mr. Sonam Phuntsho secured the 2nd Runner-up spot, each athlete earning immense applause for their dedication and hard work.

In the Men’s Sports Physique category, which saw an impressive participation of ten athletes, the contest turned into a true showcase of aesthetics and endurance. Mr. Phub Dorji was crowned the 2025 champion after displaying remarkable balance, conditioning, and charisma. Mr. Tandin Gyeltshen earned the 1st Runner-up title, followed closely by Mr. Yeshi Dorji as 2nd Runner-up, in one of the most crowd-cheered categories of the night.

The Women’s Model Physique segment brought a powerful touch of grace and empowerment to the evening. Among six inspiring athletes, Ms. Ugyen Pema claimed the 2025 crown with her poise, elegance, and confidence that lit up the stage. Ms. Kinzang Choden and Ms. Choki Wangmo secured the 1st and 2nd Runner-up titles, respectively, each proving that fitness is not just about strength, but self-belief and perseverance.

One of the most exciting highlights of the evening was the introduction of the Men’s Junior Bodybuilding category, a first in Bhutan’s bodybuilding history. The category was introduced to motivate young Bhutanese to embrace fitness, discipline, and healthy living while steering them away from drugs and negative influences.

Mr. Tshewang Dorji made history by becoming the first-ever Men’s Junior Bodybuilding Champion 2025, showcasing remarkable potential and stage confidence. Mr. Tshering Dhendup earned the 1st Runner-up position, with both athletes setting a strong foundation for the next generation of bodybuilders in Bhutan.

Speaking about this milestone, Mr. Sonam Tobgay, General Secretary of the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association, shared,

“The Men’s Junior Bodybuilding category was introduced to encourage and motivate our youth to live healthier lives and avoid the path of drugs. Through bodybuilding, we want to help them build confidence, discipline, and a positive lifestyle.”

The evening at Clock Tower Square was more than just a bodybuilding competition. From seasoned champions to passionate newcomers, the Mr. Bhutan 2025 Championship captured the true essence of strength, not only the kind built in the gym, but the kind forged through passion, perseverance, and purpose.
