Women’s Category Opens India House Golf Tournament 2025 in Thimphu

The India House Golf Tournament 2025 teed off today with the Women’s Category at the picturesque India House Eco Park, India House Estate, Thimphu, marking the ceremonial start of the tournament held in honor of the Coronation Day of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

A total of nine women golfers took to the greens, competing over 18 demanding holes on a course that tested every aspect of their game. The fairways were crisp under the winter sun, and though the air carried a hint of chill, the players displayed warm spirit and impressive composure throughout.

The course conditions were far from easy—tight lies, fast greens, and deep bunkers made every hole a challenge. Several golfers impressed with accurate drives and steady putts, managing to save pars on holes that demanded real course management. The bunkers, in particular, proved testing, with their steep lips and tricky sand adding to the day’s difficulty.

The course proved demanding, yet the lady golfers displayed fine control and steady play. Their positive spirit added a special charm to the opening day’s round.

Tomorrow, the spotlight shifts to the Junior Category, where over 50 young golfers will take to the course—bringing youthful energy and enthusiasm to the greens.
