Stories That Made Us Believe More
17th National School Games 2025
Just about an hour ago, something truly special happened at Sarpang Central School. The atmosphere was calm at first — and then slowly, excitement began to build as two remarkable athletes walked in: Kinzang Lhamo and Lam Dorji. They came for the 17th National School Games 2025 not only as BEAST Athletes, but as role models, carrying stories that felt real, honest, and close to the heart.
The students waited quietly, some curious, some nervous, many dreaming silently about their own futures. And when the conversation began, it felt less like a talk show and more like a conversation between older siblings and younger brothers and sisters.
They spoke about dreams not as something far away, but as something we must hold, protect, and work for. They reminded everyone that dreams do not come true by wishing. They grow slowly, with discipline. With sacrifice. With days when you feel like giving up, and still choose to continue.
Lam Dorji shared his journey with calm strength. He said talent alone will never be enough. To become a professional athlete, one must be willing to sacrifice sleep, comfort, and sometimes even moments of fun. He described what it feels like to wear Bhutan’s flag on his chest the pride, the goosebumps, the weight of responsibility something that cannot be fully explained, only felt. In that moment, the hall grew quiet. You could see the students imagining themselves standing there one day.
Then, Kinzang Lhamo spoke — gently, but with courage. “I didn’t quit,” she said, “and you shouldn’t either.” Those few words settled into the room like a promise. She talked about how the path becomes harder the closer we get to our dreams more obstacles, more doubt, more pressure. But she reminded everyone that patience and perseverance eventually bring the sweetest fruits. Her honesty touched the students deeply. Some nodded. Some smiled quietly. A few fought back tears.
The question-and-answer session that followed felt sincere and warm. Students asked from the heart. The answers came from experience. There was laughter, silence, reflection and a feeling that something meaningful had just been planted in many young minds.
Today did not feel like just another program. It felt like a moment that will stay with the students — a reminder that dreams are possible, but they ask for effort, discipline, respect, and faith. And that carrying Bhutan’s name is not only glory, but also responsibility.
We are truly grateful to Kinzang Lhamo and Lam Dorji for being here only an hour ago, yet already leaving behind inspiration that will last far longer than this event. They reminded all of us to dream bravely, work honestly, and never give up when the road becomes difficult.
