First-Ever India–Bhutan Traditional Archery Friendship Match Held in Thimphu

Thimphu hosted the first-ever India–Bhutan Traditional Archery Friendship Match today at the Bhutan Archery Federation Ground, bringing together archers from Bhutan and India (Sikkim) for a friendly and spirited competition.

The one-day tournament was held in a 15-round format, keeping players and spectators engaged throughout the day. All participants received handcrafted trophies from Bhutan, recognising their effort and participation.

The event also featured traditional Bhutanese dance performances and cultural activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere and giving everyone a chance to experience the rich heritage shared by both nations.

Organised by the Bhutan Indigenous Games and Sports Association with support from the Bhutan Olympic Committee and the India–Bhutan Foundation, this first-ever match marked a memorable celebration of friendship, sportsmanship, and the enduring ties between India and Bhutan.
