Her Royal Highness Attends the IPC Conference and General Assembly in Seoul, South Korea.

Her Royal Highness Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, attended the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Conference and 22nd General Assembly held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 24th to 27th September, 2025.

The IPC General Assembly, the supreme decision-making body of the global Paralympic Movement, convenes once every two years. The 2025 session was of particular significance as it oversaw the elections of the new leadership for the next four-year term.

Mr. Andrew Parsons was re-elected as President of the IPC for a third term. Ms. Leila Marques Mota (NPC Portugal) and Mr. John Peterson (NPC Denmark) were elected as Vice Presidents, to lead the Paralympic Movement in its next phase of growth and impact. The Governing Board will be elected at the next Extraordinary General Assembly of the IPC.

Her Royal Highness’s participation reaffirms Bhutan’s unwavering commitment to advancing the Paralympic Movement and its aspiration to foster inclusivity, empowerment, and opportunities for persons with disabilities through para-sport. The Bhutan Paralympic Committee’s presence at this international forum reflects the Kingdom’s growing role in strengthening global collaboration, governance, and advocacy through sport.

The IPC Conference and General Assembly also served as a platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and partnership-building among National Paralympic Committees worldwide.
