His Royal Highness attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games held in Milan, marking the official commencement of the Games. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, IOC President Kirsty Coventry, and other dignitaries from across the world.

Before the Opening Ceremony, His Royal Highness also met His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President, and Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, during the Presidential reception hosted by the President at the Royal Palace of Milan, for distinguished Olympic guests and international delegates attending the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

In HRH’s capacity as Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), His Royal Highness attended the signing ceremony of the Host City Contract for the 10th Asian Winter Games. The contract was signed by the President of the Olympic Council of Asia, His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, and the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, represented by its President, Mr. Gennadiy Golovkin.

The agreement officially confirms Almaty, Kazakhstan, as the Host City of the 2029 Asian Winter Games, reinforcing Asia’s continued commitment to the development and promotion of winter sports across the continent.
