Bhutan Hosts First-Ever South Asian Basketball Council Meeting
Thimphu, October 12, 2025 — The Bhutan Basketball Federation successfully hosted its first-ever South Asian Basketball Council meeting in Thimphu on October 12, 2025.
The event brought together delegates from FIBA Asia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the region’s collective efforts to promote and develop basketball.
The council concluded on a positive note, with all member nations reaffirming their commitment to further strengthen collaborations aimed at advancing the sport across South Asia. The meeting emphasized the role of unity through sports as a driving force for regional cooperation and youth engagement.
