His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck Graces Launch of Bhutan Insurance Limited’s “One Tree Initiative” in Honour of His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s 70th Birth Anniversary
Bhutan Insurance Limited (BIL), Our Insurance Partner, today launched a major environmental initiative titled the “One Tree Initiative” at Tsewhang Lhakhang, Danglo, Namselling, Thimphu, in profound reverence to His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 70th Birth Anniversary.
The programme was graced by His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, who attended the event and planted a tree, symbolizing a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and the enduring legacy of His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
The initiative honors His Majesty’s extraordinary vision and lifelong dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable development, values that continue to guide Bhutan’s development philosophy.
The “One Tree Initiative” is organized by Bhutan Insurance Limited and implemented in strategic partnership with WWF Bhutan and the Department of Forest and Park Services. Under this initiative, Bhutan Insurance Limited will plant one tree for every new internal combustion engine vehicle insured under a comprehensive policy, as well as for new industries with environmental impact insured during the initiative period.
