HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck Attends the 101st Executive Board Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia

October 22, 2025, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, attended the 101st Executive Board Meeting of the OCA held on the sidelines of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, today in Manama, Bahrain.
Key highlights of the meeting were the signing of MoU between OCA and Tencent to collaborate on mind games and e-sports initiatives, underscoring the OCA’s commitment to embracing innovation and expanding its engagement with youth through digital sports. Another MoU was signed between the OCA and the City of Abu Dhabi to host sports forums, seminars, and events.
The meeting also included key updates from the Organizing Committees of the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and the Riyadh Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, outlining the progress on their respective preparations for the upcoming events.
Following the EB Meeting, HRH also attended the signing Ceremony for the Renewal of the Cooperation Agreement between the OCA and ANOCA (Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa), reaffirming their shared commitment to developing sports and promoting Olympic values across Asia and Africa.
Later in the evening, His Royal Highness will attend the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, marking the official commencement of the continent’s premier youth sporting event in Bahrain. Bhutan is being represented by 9 athletes competing in the sport discipline of Aquatics
(swimming), Athletics, Boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Judo at the 3rd edition of the Asian Youth Games.
