Team Bhutan Receives Royal Encouragement from
HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck
On 22nd October 2025, during the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck granted an audience to the Bhutanese athletes to convey HRH’s warm wishes and words of encouragement.
His Royal Highness commended the athletes for their dedication, discipline, and perseverance in representing Bhutan with pride on the international stage. HRH emphasized the importance of competing with integrity, humility, and sportsmanship, reminding them that their participation alone signifies a remarkable milestone in Bhutan’s sporting journey.
Bhutan is participating in six sporting disciplines at the 3rd Asian Youth Games — athletics, boxing, taekwondo, swimming, muay, and judo. The athletes expressed their heartfelt gratitude for His Royal Highness’s continued guidance and inspiration, which have strengthened their confidence and motivation ahead of their events.
