Empowering Coaches and Technical Staff with Fundamentals of IT and Basic Data Analysis
The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) has successfully conducted a five-day Sports Administration Course titled “Fundamentals of IT and Basic Data Analysis” for coaches and technical staff from various National Sports Federations.
The programme was held from 10–14 March at the National Coaching Academy (NCA), Olympasia House in Thimphu, with a total of 14 participants representing six National Sports Federations taking part in the training.
The course aimed to strengthen participants’ administrative, reporting, and data management skills, which are increasingly essential in modern sports management and athlete development systems. Through the programme, coaches and technical staff were introduced to key digital tools and basic data analysis techniques that can support effective athlete monitoring, performance tracking, and reporting.
The programme was conducted with support from the Robotics & IoT Training Institute, and included hands-on practical sessions designed to equip participants with fundamental digital and analytical skills relevant to sports administration.
Such initiatives reflect the Bhutan Olympic Committee’s continued commitment to enhancing the professional capacity of coaches and technical staff across the country. By integrating digital literacy and data management into sports administration, the programme contributes to improving efficiency and strengthening support systems for athlete development.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants received certification recognizing their participation in the intensive short-term training on ICT and Data Analytics for sports administrators under the Bhutan Olympic Committee.
Through programmes like this, the BOC continues to invest in building a more digitally capable and professionally equipped sports ecosystem, ultimately contributing to the long-term development and success of Bhutanese athletes.
