Bhutan Olympic Committee Welcomes

Delegation from SEISA Group and Foundation for Global Children, Japan

The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) was honored to host Mr. Hiroako Ishida, International Program Manager, and Mr. Yosuki Ishii, Executive Director, from the Foundation for Global Children, Japan – an integral part of the SEISA Group – during their recent four-day visit to Bhutan.

The visit was held in remembrance of the late Yasuo Miyazawa, the visionary founder of the SEISA Group, whose legacy of compassion, service, and dedication to sports and youth empowerment continues to inspire. For many years, the SEISA Group and the Foundation for Global Children have worked in close partnership with the BOC to support youth development, sports promotion, and capacity-building initiatives across Bhutan.

During this visit, discussions focused on exploring new avenues for collaboration, with particular emphasis on youth scholarships, capacity-building programs, and strengthening grassroots sports initiatives. The delegation reaffirmed their commitment to fostering opportunities for young Bhutanese athletes to excel at both national and international levels.

As a highlight of their trip, five wheelchairs were generously donated to the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, made possible through the joint support of SEISA Group, Foundation for Global Children, and Nippon TV, Japan. This thoughtful contribution will play a vital role in enhancing accessibility and participation in sports for persons with disabilities in Bhutan.

The friendship and partnership between the SEISA Group, Foundation for Global Children, and the Bhutan Olympic Committee has been nothing short of remarkable. The BOC extends its heartfelt gratitude for this continued support, which has uplifted sports and inspired countless Bhutanese youth. The Committee remains deeply indebted for their kindness and commitment to a shared vision of empowering communities through sport.

The Bhutan Olympic Committee looks forward to strengthening this meaningful collaboration in the years to come, continuing to honor the legacy of the late Yasuo Miyazawa through initiatives that empower, inspire, and unite communities through sport.
