Bhutan Unveils 23-Athlete Lineup for
15th South Asian Physique and Sports
Championships 2025

Bhutan is set to make a powerful statement on the regional fitness stage as it prepares to host the 15th South Asian Physique and Sports Championships 2025. The Bhutan Bodybuilding Association (BBA) has officially announced 23-member national team that will compete across multiple categories when the championship returns to Thimphu from June 11 to 15, after a 14-year hiatus
The event will take place at the Clock Tower Square in the heart of Thimphu, transforming the city into a hub of athletic excellence and regional camaraderie. The championship is organized by the BBA under the auspices of the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, with support from the Bhutan Olympic Committee. It is sanctioned by both the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) and the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (ABBF), ensuring its credibility and international significance




The Bhutanese contingent will compete in the following categories:
- Men’s Bodybuilding
- Men’s Physique Sports
- Women’s Physique Sports
- Team Championship – Men
- Team Championship – Women
- Men’s Bodybuilding Overall Champion
The competition will feature 19 categories, offering a platform for top athletes to compete at the highest level. Seven countries have already confirmed their participation, with Bangladesh expected to finalize its involvement soon.
The championship will be a four-day event, with June 11 and 12 dedicated to technical tests and preparations, followed by the main competitions on June 13 and 14. The event will be broadcast live on WBPF TV as well as on BBS, ensuring global coverage for bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts.
The judging panel will include over 10 experienced judges, featuring main judges, neutral judges, and Bhutanese representatives. Additionally, renowned Stage Marshall, Mr. Samuel from Hong Kong, will oversee the event, bringing his expertise to ensure a seamless competition.
