7TH NATIONAL OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026

The Bhutan Tennis Federation, in collaboration with the Bhutan Olympic Committee and proudly sponsored by Bhutan Wine Company, is pleased to announce the GYALSEY JIGME NAMGYEL 7TH NATIONAL OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026, which will be held from March 28 to April 5, 2026 at the National Tennis Center in Changlimithang, Thimphu.

Dedicated to His Royal Highness Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck, the championship stands as one of Bhutan’s most prestigious national tennis events and a proud celebration of sporting excellence, unity, and youth development. Now in its seventh edition, the tournament continues to grow in stature each year, attracting talented players from across Bhutan as well as participants from neighboring countries, further strengthening competitive standards and regional sporting ties.

The upcoming championship will feature six categories: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, U-16 Boys’ Singles, U-16 Girls’ Singles, Lucky Mixed Doubles, and Veterans’ Singles (45+). The singles events will follow a knockout format with a maximum draw of 32 players, including eight seeded players. All matches will be played as best of three tie-break sets under the standard scoring system. The Lucky Mixed Doubles event will be determined through a draw, with registered players welcome to be present during the pairing process. The official tournament draw will be conducted by the Tournament Committee on the evening preceding the first day of play.

Entries will only be accepted on the official registration form. Please click here to download the Registration Form and the Rules and Regulations of the tournament.

Registration will close on 26 March 2026 at 3:00 PM. An entry fee of Nu. 1000 (Ngultrum One Thousand) will be charged per event entered. Participating teams and players are responsible for their own travel arrangements.

The tournament will be conducted on four hard synthetic courts at the National Tennis Center, all equipped with lighting facilities to ensure smooth scheduling of matches throughout the championship period.
