During the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games on 22nd October 2025 in Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck met with the Bhutanese athletes, offering words of encouragement and warm wishes. HRH commended the young athletes for their dedication and perseverance, urging them to compete with integrity, humility, and true sportsmanship.

October 22, 2025, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, Vice President of the
Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, attended the
101st Executive Board Meeting of the OCA held on the sidelines of the 3rd Asian Youth Games,
today in Manama, Bahrain.

The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), together with volunteers from various National Sports Federations, has joined the nation in the four-day Volunteer Service Programme at the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), which began on 6th October 2025.

His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, son of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck and Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, was today joined in marriage with Ugen Choden Namgyel, daughter of Mr. Singye Namgyel and Mrs. Tshering Lhamo.

As Bhutan steps into this new era, it does so with humility, hope, and a deep sense of responsibility.
