At a ceremony held at Olympiasia House this morning, HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the BOC, signed three Presidential Directives formally activating the National Sports Ecosystem Upgrade Agenda.

The second edition of the Sports in Schools Programme will begin on April 1, 2026, in eastern Bhutan, continuing efforts to strengthen a vibrant sporting culture in schools.
Bhutan is officially confirmed to participate in the 20th Asian Games, officially named Aichi-Nagoya 2026 (XX Asiad), taking place in Japan from September 19 to October 4, 2026. The Games will feature athletes from across Asia competing in 41 sports, including esports, breaking, and cricket.
