With the theme “Youth Development Through Sports,” the Games placed equal importance on character-building as much as competition. Students had the chance not only to showcase their skills, but also to learn teamwork, discipline, mutual respect and leadership values that will stay with them long after the medals are forgotten. The event began on 24 December and concluded today, marking several days of spirited matches and meaningful exchanges among young athletes.

The celebrations concluded on a cheerful note, with lively performances by student artists and a special appearance by Chencho Gyeltshen, whose inspiring words encouraged students to dream bigger, work harder and believe in what they can achieve through perseverance and dedication.

Organised by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, in collaboration with the Bhutan Olympic Committee and supported by Olympic Solidarity, the National School Games continue to serve as an important platform for nurturing future champions and strengthening the foundation of school sports in Bhutan.
