The Bhutan Amateur Athletics Federation will be organizing the 9th Coronation Marathon on 2nd June 2016 in Haa Dzongkhag. Only the participants of age 16 years and above are allowed to participate. This year the marathon is dedicated to the Birth Anniversary of Gyalsey and have 3 categories:
- Men’s Full Marathon: 42.195 kms.
- Men’s Half Marathon: 21 kms. and
- Women’s Half Marathon: 21 kms.
Following are the cash prizes:
Men’s (Full Marathon)
- 1st- Nu. 40,000/-
- 2nd- Nu. 30,000/-
- 3rd- Nu. 20,000/-
Men’s (Half Marathon)
- 1st- Nu. 20,000/-
- 2nd- Nu. 15,000/-
- 3rd- Nu. 10,000/-
Women’s (Half Marathon)
- 1st- 20,000/-
- 2nd- 15,000/-
- 3rd- 10,000/-
For the 1st National runners completing the run within the time as mentioned below shall be awarded with bonus cash prize:
- Full Marathon (Men): Nu. 40,000 within 2 hours 23 minutes
- Half Marathon (Men): Nu. 20,000 within 1 hours 3 minutes
- Half Marathon (Women): Nu. 20,000 within 1 hours 15 minutes
