National Sports Federations

A National Sports Federation (NSF) is an organization that represents a specific sport or group of sports at the national level. The NSF is responsible for the promotion, development, and organization of his/her sport within the country.

They work with government and other organizations to ensure that the sport is accessible to all and that the athletes are provided with the necessary resources to excel. The NSF also acts as the representative of the country in international competitions and events.

The NSF, establishes the rules and regulations for the sport, as well as, select and train athletes for the national teams. They also manage the national teams, coaches, and athletes and provide them with the necessary resources and support to compete at the highest level.

Currently, there are 16 sports federations in the country affiliated to the Bhutan Olympic committee. These NSF help promote BOC its mission of “sports for all” through their programs.
