Sports Associations
A Sports Association is an organization that promotes and governs a specific sport or group of sports at a regional or local level. They work to develop and organize the sport within a specific area, such as state or city. They may also serve as a link between the National Sports Federation (NSF) and local sports clubs and teams. They often provide resources, training, and support to local athletes, coaches, and teams, and work to grow participation in the sport.
They also organize local and regional competitions and events. Sports Associations also help to promote the sport within the community and to increase awareness of the sport. They may also work with schools and youth organizations to encourage young people to participate in the sport. They are also responsible for implementing and enforcing the rules and regulations set by the National Sports Federation.
Currently, there are 5 Sports Associations affiliated to the Bhutan Olympic Committee.
